Current Events

The Civic-Literacy Conference was held at Henry Ford Elementary on May 3rd. The activities involved all of Henry Ford's fifth graders and included students from Page Middle School (Lamphere-Madison Heights), Avondale Upper elementary (Avondale), and from Dearborn -Maples Elementary and Salina Intermediate. The students got together to discuss current events/political issues that they wish to build into project level learning tasks. Students met in small groups via instruction teaching steps for understanding bureaucracy, advocacy and use of these tools to bring about effective change.
